The management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is pleased at this time to release the Prize List for the Royal West Mini Series of Tournaments beginning on October 22nd and culminating on November 8th, 2020.
Hosted at Calgary’s Stampede Park, the Royal West Mini Series will offer competitions for horses and riders beginning in the .80m level all the way to the 1.40m level, and prize money topping $50,000. Competitors who are familiar with RMSJ events hosted at Stampede Park in years past can be assured of the same quality of footing, jumps, courses and event management that they’ve come to expect from the RMSJ team.
The global pandemic COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of tournaments worldwide this year and the province of Alberta hasn’t been spared the same fate, losing many of the favorite events province wide that competitors have relied on to participate with their horses for years.
RMSJ made the decision to host a few tournaments in August, and after doing so was pleased to see just how cooperative competitors were with adhering to all of the safety measures necessary to host the events. The decision to add the September events was made on short notice, and the response was also very well received.
Rather than close up shop until the 2021 season, the team at RMSJ made the decision to carry on throughout the Fall, and hopefully into the Winter months providing competitors a safe and comfortable environment to continue with their horses. The decision was made to open discussions with the team at Stampede Park, and thus, the Royal West Mini Series was born.
It is the intent of the RMSJ Team to first complete the three Fall Tournaments at Stampede Park, and then, if the feedback is that competitors would like to continue into the Winter, then add a series of events in the months of January, February, and March.
Please take the time to read over the Prize List and see if the Royal West Mini Series fits your needs. The Tournament will go live on the entry platform Showgrounds Live Wednesday Morning September 16th. Unfortunately, again, we will be limited on how many competitors allowed to enter the tournaments and do expect them to sell out very quickly. Three tournaments are planned to help alleviate this issue as most competitors typically plan just one or two tournaments.
