RMSJ Team

Rocky Mountain Show Jumping has had a longstanding mandate of contributing to the building of the sport from the Grass Roots level.  We have always believed that providing events catering to the “Up & Comers” of the sport is essential to promoting development of riders that will be our stars of the future.  The list of riders that have began their careers here at RMSJ and gone on to the upper levels of the sport is impressive to say the least, and we are proud to say that we’ve had a part in their development, and can’t wait to see the next batch of young riders grow up through the ranks.

The management team of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is pleased at this time to announce a special bonus to the Developing Riders of our Sport.  Originally scheduled to launch in early 2020, our team was forced to cancel the program due to the COVID pandemic, but is pleased to announce the “New” launch date of this program dedicated to our sport's younger athletes.

Beginning at the two Santa Claus Classics being hosted at Stampede Park in November & December 2020, and continuing into the 2021 Season, Developing Riders will be collecting points in all RMSJ Developing Rider divisions.  Points are collected in the following 9 divisions:

  • Beginner Hunter (Poles on Ground)
  • X-Rail Hunter
  • 2’0” Hunter
  • 2’3” Short Long Stirrup Hunter
  • 2’6” Pre Child/Adult Hunter
  • 0.60m Jumper
  • 0.70m Jumper
  • 0.80m Jumper
  • 0.90m Jumper

All RMSJ Tournaments are Wildrose sanctioned by the Alberta Equestrian Federation. To help us support the year end awards all Athlete Development Sanctioned Tournaments will be collecting an Athlete Development contribution of $5 at each tournament; 100% of the funds collected, along with a generous contribution by RMSJ will go directly back to the athletes participating in the events.

All Wildrose sanctioned shows with the designated divisions are eligible to be a part of the Series, contact RMSJ for more details.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, $15,000 in Athlete Development Bursaries and some AMAZING prizes will be awarded!

Theses awards will be presented by the AEF and be a part of the inaugural RMSJ Shindig that will play host to an annual Year-End Party. Dress to Impress will be the theme in 2021 with the location to be announced.

Best of Luck to all Developing Riders in 2020 & 2021 and we’ll see you at the Shindig!

Tailwind Equestrian Tournaments was scheduled to originally be a part of the series, but like us at our regular venue, is unable to host indoor events that satisfy our province's current health requirements.  They will more than likely host some events later in the year outdoors, and as this is a new series, we encourage all venues that wish to partake to do so.  Please contact Caroline at caroline@rmsj.ca for more information to include your tournaments into the series.
